Mary and the Witch’s Flower (Film)

Directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi, Mary and the Witch’s Flower is an adorable story about a young girl who finds a magical flower that will turn her into a witch for one night only. This is Studio Ponoc’s first feature film based off of the story The Little Broomstick by Mary Stewart.

The story begins with a black cat leading Mary to a flower in the woods. Later she soon finds a broomstick that comes to life! Before she can comprehend her situation, the broom whisks her away though the sky and over the trees. After the magical journey Mary finds herself Endor College, a school for witches by witches. To her dismay, Mary finds caged animals that are begging to be freed. Due to a minor interruption, Mary vows to come back and free them later. She keeps her promise and returns the next day, once the animals were freed she encounters evil characters that are set on getting their revenge. This movie is a true adventure for everyone.
